In this AdobeĀ® Photoshop Tutorial, you will learn the techniques involved in the creation of mesh of metals. This tutorial can also be extended to Photoshop CS2. Create a new .Psd document in Photoshop with your suitable size. Let the document be filled with its default White background. You can reset the default colors by pressing "D" from your keyboard.

Now, you are going to apply the "Cell Pattern". To do this, go to Filter-->Texture-->Stained Glass. You will be able to see a window popping up as shown :

Use the settings Cell size : 7-9 , Border Thickness : 3-5 , Light Intensity : 2-4. You will see your document being changed like this:

Now grab the Magic Wand tool from the toolbar and set the Tolerance to 50, along with the Anti-Aliased & Contiguous boxes checked. Now click on the black lattice.

Now go to Edit-->Cut. You have now cut your selection. Then create a new transparent layer. And go to Edit --> Paste , to paste the selection inside it. After the completion delete the background layer.

To make a lattice resemble wire, go to Layer-->Layer Style-->Blending Options and enter the setting with appropriate value.

Now apply Emboss settings. Click "Bevel & Emboss" style.
With a little reworking and a slight change to contrast and brightness, finely-meshed silvery chain mail is no problem at all. You can, if needed, even play around with the settings given in the first step until you get a lattice that suits your tastes more precisely.
