There are huge amount of Adobe® Photoshop Techniques for converting a photo to an Hand drawn art. We will learn now, how to convert such using a Film Grain Filter tool. Here we will be using two kinds of filters namely High Pass and Note Paper. These are built in functions of Film Grain Filter Tool. Though these kinds of conversions can be done using many blur, Glow tools, this technique provides you an exact and crystal conversion. Open up the require image. Take care that you take a picture containing less textures to have more percentage of accuracy.
After opening up, duplicate the background layer by clicking the icon from the Layer palette. Drag and drop into the Create New Layer icon. Now revert the foreground and Background color using Ctrl+D.
The next step is applying the High Pass filter. Go to Filter --> Other --> High Pass. Pick up a very small radius. This depends on the size of the image. Now use the Note Paper Filter. Go to Filter --> Sketch --> Note Paper. Use the values for Image balance=<50, Graininess=0 and Relief=0.
After the paper model is created for the image, darken the lines. Go to Image --> Adjustments --> Threshold. Move the slider to a desired value and preview it so that the image is dark. Now you can see the picture converted to an art.
